WHAT IS NANOTECHNOLOGY IN?

Nanoparticles are applied in sunscreen to produce much better protection from the sun. There are two different types of nanoparticles used in sunscreens in the United States: zync oxide and titanium dioxide. With their effectiveness of absorbing UV light and visible light. Compared to other UV inhibitors, the nanoparticles make the sunscreen less irritant and has low alleregen materials.

MEDICINE

With the incorporation of nanotechnology, scientists have come up with a new way to insert vaccines or medicines into the body without any pain whatsoever. The "nanopatch" is nothing like a needle, but a patch, as the name proclaims, that has much smaller spikes that go into the skin and deliver the vaccine successfully with less amounts, making it cheaper to use.

SOLAR POWER

With the use of quantum dots, otherwise known as modified nanoparticles, researchers developed a cheaper way to aquire solar energy as well as making it easier to produce since it requires room temperature compared to "high temperature processing" used on silicone. (3)

CLOTHING

Nanotechnology has made a huge impact on clothing by making them stain resistant, waterproof, etc. "Nanoparticles of silica incorporated into the weave of a fabric or sprayed onto its surface create a coating that repels water and stain-producing liquids"(4).
